The Season For Inspiration

The Season For Inspiration

The Small Businesses Inspiring Me This Christmas

I get a bit excited whenever I discover beautiful and functional design. If the dreamer behind the design happens to also be a fellow small business owner and creative, I get all inspired and buy their products and then have some fun putting everything together in a photoshoot!

This year I've taken further inspiration from the gorgeous jacarandas that are in full bloom all over Sydney at the moment, and opted for a lilac themed Christmas.

Enjoy!

Oh gosh so much goodness in one picture. Where do I start?

The felt garland Scarlett and I are holding is from dreamy kids decor brand Cloud Den. The Melbourne based husband and wife duo behind the brand create some of the most beautiful (and unique) interiors you could find. Check out their beautiful range for some colourful gift ideas.

Well this decorating session quickly turned into a pom pom fight! Thank goodness for these fun, non-breakable decorations from The Party Cupboard. This delightful online store has the biggest range of party decorations in one spot.

As you can see I've opted for some non-traditional colours this year, however The Party Cupboard also have more classic Christmas decorations so there's something for everyone.

Hmmm, this tree decorating photoshoot seems to be working in reverse!

With all the poms poms now off the tree (and squished in a heap on the other side of the lounge room), let's talk about this beautiful plywood Christmas tree from One Two Tree. This semi-bespoke piece is made in Australia from sustainably farmed Australian timber and makes for an eco-friendly, stylish alternative to the traditional Christmas tree.

My cheeky assistant! Scarlett wears her Little Emperor 'Petits Gâteaux' dress with the most luxe flower crown from stylish kids brand Branche

I discovered quite serendipitously that these beautiful lights from Little Paper Lane thread through the holes of my new tree. Magic! And how beautiful is this fairtrade, recycled paper star from the Oxfam Shop.

Sweet fairy floss and pink peonies!! How could I resist this flamingo tree decoration! Perfect for anyone who suffers from TCBO (that's Traditional Christmas Burn Out for those not in the know).

Hop on over to happy stationery and gift boutique, Little Paper Lane for this flamingo and much, much more. This shop not only has the most glorious collection of goods you won't find elsewhere, it's also run by one of the hardest working and fearless girl bosses around. Follow @littlepaperlane on instagram for owner and mum Jayde's refreshingly honest and funny posts (and to keep your finger on the pulse of her shop's gorgeous wares of course).

That's me in my new Spell Lovebird gown looking pretty thrilled with my lilac themed tree. I love everything about this label! From their hand drawn designs to their amazing customer service. But perhaps what I love most is how they proudly embrace 'slow fashion' over 'fast fashion'.

I hope you've enjoyed reading this little post and that you've found some fabulous new Australian small businesses to throw your support behind this Christmas.
